2010 steering clutch pak

put new disc in clutch pack,, back in the tractor. can't get a good adj. for the "release lever's" (3 clutch fingers), - too far away from the throw out bearing,,, i can get a good adj. but when i put those three lil stainless "retaining clips " on,,, i loose a bunch of adj. on those finger's...
I'm roughly 3/4" away from the throw out bearing. otherwise i can get it to near 1/4. do i have to use those dang clips?,,, i see what they do,, or what thier intended purpose is. ???? anybody?

I'm not sure I understand. Those lock clips are usually only there to keep the adjuster-nuts from coming loose and have nothing to do with the actual finger-heigth adjustment. The thicker the stack of clutches the lower the fingers will be - until you adjust them correctly.

Not all pressure plates have lock-clips. Some have jam-nuts instead.

Take clips and throw them away use a JD227A tool to set finger height. I sell them but you didn't buy your disc from me.
