bison, sure is a beauty, hope new owner appreciates her. What is factory model number and year of mfg.? What is purpose of square tube on dozer arm--blade angling? Always liked the big ACs, but only got to drive neighbor's ?? a few times several decades ago, still remember hanging on to top crossbar on rough lanes/too much speed. Looks like fall in full swing in your area. Enjoy the memories, thanks for the picture.

1950 AC HD10-W.

The Square tubing you refer to is a fence post pusher,i put it on there and used it to push post for 15 mls of fence on my ranch.

I sold it cause it was just rusting away, had been sitting unused for the last 10 yrs.I always had in mind to restore it,but i got no shed to put it in after anyway.

Yes, winter ain't far away up here

Great post driver. I use my track loader bucket for fence posts. For a 1950 machine, that AC looks in great condition. Can you tell us what you sold it for? Dave

Yep it worked great with decent moisture in the soil, but on very hard dry ground it would lift the cat on that side of the ground and only set the post.
I had to pound these in later the conventional way.

With the blade angled i could just drive along a wire stretched corner to corner,my son woud hold the post on the right distance till i got there and i would drive it in till the blade hit the ground. When the going went good i could do 1/2 a ml in less than a hr

Not nearly enough for what i think i should've had for a machine in that good a condition and mech shape.

What would you think it was worth?

Around here in NY 220 a ton at the junk yards or 270 short.Hope it didnt go that way,I know of a lot of Heavy Equipment that has in the last few years.Good ones are Hard to Find !

no sure about actual value but a guy close to me in sc Tx has a HD11 he's askin $12,500 for...sposed to be in decent shape...its got a Buda diesel in it and i got 1 too many buda's to keep runnin.

Well i think i gave it away then.No demand for an old AC cat like i had here up in the far north, every one wants caterpilars.Prices for old cats are not that much either.
Last week a 62 D7e in fair shape fetched only 6 grand on a neighbors auction

I sold it to a fellow that wants to keep it from the scrap heap and restore it .i got $6500 for it,i paid $4500 17 yrs ago,so i made a few buxs anyway + .
I put about 2000 hrs on it and never had a breakdown so i can't realy complain can i

This one looks to be detroit diesel power. You can tell this by the two intake pipes, straight pipe, and supercharger.
