I am still at it.
I am going to look at a HG7G tomorrow.
The owner states it has a new undercarriage and new water pump.
It is an old unit "but supposed to be" a good runner.
Anything I need to look for that is critical to this unit?
Thanks all!
Brian

The receipts for the new undercarriage and water pump but the water pump is minor. I've even seen used equipment dealers try to pass off new sprockets and pads as new undercarriage but when you look at the bottom rollers and bushings, they're badly worn. Best to have a mechanic familiar with them look at it. It might cost $100 but is well worth it in the long run. Dave

Thanks 135 fan
I looked at a TD5 Monday, it needed a complete overhaul (I doubt if the chains could be saved); the owner said "the tracks needed to be adjusted".
Hour meter was @ 4400 not sure if it still worked as I did not bother with it.
This TG7G is supposed to work well with no issues, it was set aside when the water pump sprung a leak. It does need a battery now. I will have to wait for a few days to hear it running.
Thanks
Brian

Can anyone tell me what years they made this model?
I'll get the serial No when I look at it.
I'll measure the tracks for wear too. I believe it is across 5 pins center to center??
Thanks
Brian

Can anyone tell me what year this tractor is?
The serial/Model # is HG7G 24282, below that it has 7-21627
I measured the tracks across 5 pins center to center and got 28 5/16"
It looks like a sturdy unit, very heavy and robust.
From what I saw, the running gear looks to be in good shape.
Thanks again!
Brian

The HD7G with 28 5/16" for 5pines has the same chaine then the HD7GB (7" PITCHS) and I do't the year fabrication but these are good machine

24282 is a 1965 would be about 100 hp, 1.75 yard 24,000 pound machine. Had a torque convert drive with two speed forward and reverse.

Thanks all!
The owner is installing new batteries tomorrow if the rain holds off, so, I ll get to test it out soon.
If it runs OK it is coming home with me.
Anyone have a manual for this? (used & cheap) (fleaBay?)
Again thanks all
Brian

Thanks all; I made the deal, we blew a hydraulic line when we were running it, so I'll have a repair to do right away.
It runs very smooth, sounds great for sitting for 2 years.
Any pointers for a rookie operator?
Thank you to all who helped me get this far!
Brian
