Cat fifteen value
I saw a Cat fifteen yesterday; I hauled a newly purchased motor home for my neighbor; and when we got there to pick it up; this crawler was just sitting there, looking very sad.
The motor had the plugs removed; and some of the motor parts, (Carburetor, intake & exhaust manifold & magneto) were missing too; anything that was there was very rusty. This must have been used for pulling, as there wasn't a blade there.
It was a very interesting looking machine. I found out there were 7559 built, from 1928 to 1932. Sorry, I forgot the camera!
Would it be worth more than scrap value?

If the udercarrage is in good condition that would have some value. Where is it located?

Just over an hour from me.
The guy did not seem too interested in selling it.
I was hoping to get an idea of what it was worth; before I negotiate!

They seem to be collectible and or popular do to size, maybe it's not too far gone, but even if so, could help bring another one back, seems to be a fair amount of those around, salvage parts/carcasses, though some parts like what was missing, OEM parts to make it 100% correct might be hard to find, not sure what alternates you could use, but should not prevent one from repairing a tractor like this, sounds like it's might be in rough shape, see if the motor is free or stuck. I think it's hard to estimate by eye but a few hundred or scrap value has to be a reasonable assumption, definitely measure up that undercarriage, would be a good find if that part of it was not worn out, could be used on another tractor if this one is too far gone, anything is better than it going for scrap.

I see them advertised in the ACMOC magazine for 1500 complete not running ( stuck) to 4500 all painted up and running well. With a stuck engine and missing parts it would have to have a good undercarriage to be worth 700. The missing parts are not going to be cheap to replace. Repo manifolds are available.
