I have a 500 e that I was using lightly when it just stopped, won't go forward or reverse, no noise, or clunck when it happened, need help on where to start looking

Thanks, tried typing in the link, and it just brought me back to the forum, not a big computer user, what did I do wrong?

its on the second page of this forum!! A 500c but the symptons are the same---you need to find out if power is getting to your torque converter and if power is comming out of your transmission to the final drives and steering clutches. Have you checked fluid level and/or changes trans. filters?

Did check the fluids, not sure how to check if there is power to the torque converter, or the others, not a mechanic, but still pretty handy with tools.

drop the dust pan under the flywheel housing and you can see the flywheel, flex plate and torque converter and they all should be connected and rotating with the engine running

Thanks I'll take a look.

Safety caution: Have someone attend the shutdown while you investigate!
Keep all appendages (fingers, ETC) well away from the moving parts!

on a 500c there are 2 hyd pressure ports on top of the reverser--if you put pressure gages on them it will tell if the charge pump, torque converter and reverser clutch packs are functioning.

Just a recap, 500e still won't move, eng. runs great, but no motion.
checked flywheel and torque converter everythings spinning,
changed fluids and filters,
looked in manual, doesn't appear that the 500e has ports to check pressure, but we did loosen a cap, and there was alot of pressure when removed.
Some new info- when we removed filters, they were collapsed inside, what would cause that?, and when the tractor is running and in forward gear, we can shift the floor shifter from 1st to 2nd, with out any grinding or problems, I don't think I should be able to do that, Right!
Anyone have ANY ideas? we've run out of places to look, thanks again to everyone!
