Help, Cat D3 specs

Can any of you give me the approximate weight of a D3 with a six way blade? :? I need to know if I can haul it on a 7 ton trailer. TIA :wink:

A new D3 is about 18000#

Early D3 with PAT,no ripper.....12,700 LBs.(5.8 Tonne).
Ripper weighs 710 LBs...ROPS is 700 LBs.

Not knowing how it's equipped I'd want to say 8-9 tonne to be safe. It could be less, but I don't think it'd be much less.

you're into dual wheel tandem axle or single wheel tri's for that kind of weight.
This is not light trailer material, or light truck material.

Thanks much guys, I guess that a D3 is off my list!

I have a 1 ton pickup, (ute) with single rear wheels and a 7 ton gooseneck trailer, so I'm limiting myself to 11,000 lbs max!

I really am looking or something like a JD 350 or similar! :wink: Thanks again for the responses.

Hey SS,
If you can get a Cat D3 for a nice price,go for it...depending on how often it gets moved.
A lot better machine than a 350 or anything in that class.

I believe that our D3 with PAT blade weighed around 15,500. It
was a 79u series.
