aligning idler?

I put new undercarriage on my 931 B Cat. One idler usually lines up centered with the rails. The other side seems to rub on the center of the idler most of the time. I put the shims on the side I want to move closer to the track frame, to have enough clearance, and have the block on the other side up against the track frame to pull the idler over. However, the idler doesn't want to move over. The sprockets line up with the center of the rollers and the rollers aren't really adjustable. Does it matter if the idler rubs on the center a little? Any ideas what could be wrong and how to fix it? I wonder if the cylinder rod the idler bolts to might have a slight bend. It's about a 2 or 2 1/2 inch shaft but I guess anythings possible. Thanks. Dave, adjust shims as close as you can and the idler will move over the next time the track gets tight enough to move the recoil spring pilot off the stops.
