My husband has an Allis Chalmers HD-11 bulldozer that he recently overhauled the transmission. It had been running good until yesterday. He loaded it on the trailer and backed it off and it will only go into reverse. He's thinking it may be in the linkage. Does anyone have any ideas on how to adjust this or anyother suggestions would be very helpful. Where it is situated now it cannot go in reverse any further!!! Thanks.
 

It's a torque converter transmission type.

My husband is home now here is his statement:

Driving it through the field it started moving slower until it quit moving. I could back it in 1, but when I would slip it into 2 it would stop like I hit the brakes. It also wants to creep back when the shift lever is in neutral or a little bit into forward. It has plenty of oil in the transmission - had been working good as I moved a bunch of dirt a day before. I would sure appreciate anything you can tell me.
 

HI The possible cause no 1 cluch apply pressure low (this will affect all cluches) check main pressure and transmission cluch apply pressure,make necesssary adjustement.2 Speed controle valve linkage broken or out of adjustement--replace or adjust linkage.

Would you please explain your #1 a little better - I don't understand what you are saying. I really appreciate your advice even though you are not a mechanic. Do you know of someone that could help me? Thanks.
 


HI I check in manual service and number on was transmission cluch(s) will not engage, and its could be too the centrifugal sensing valve stuck open and if you want call my friend tomorrow Gilles BEAUREGARD he is a expert in ALLIS CHALMERS transmissions 450-649-5297 , me am on my pension and still have a small inventary use parts and juste dismantled 2 HD11 but they are manual direct drive.
