OC 46 Diesel Won't Start

He apparently tried to start it before the trucker arrived to assist in loading it. He pulled the fuel tank and cleaned it as well as installed a new lift pump, but it still wouldn't start.

I put in a new battery (it has one 12 volt rather than 2 6 volt batteries) and tried to start it. It would not fire, so I checked the fuel system. I had no fuel at the injection pump so I bled all the lines until I had good flow at the injectors.

It briefly caught a couple of times and died out but then the battery ran down. It appears to be starved for fuel and the smoke from the pipe is white. Does it sound like I need to pull the injectors and see if they are clean?

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

The tractor came already converted to one 12 volt battery, so in the interest of trying to get it going, I left it as it was. Once I have it running and begin work on restoring it, I will rewire the cables and convert it back to original.

I have pulled the rubber hose from the intake manifold and checked it for obstructions, and it appears clear. (There was a large, abandoned wasp nest in the exhaust pipe!).

I appreciate the thought on the fuel filters. It could be that the flow is restricted and I am not getting enough fuel to fire it up. I will replace those and see if it helps.
