I am in need of help !!! Currently working on a 1945-50 D6
dozer, not sure of the year. It has the pancake style pony
engine. I was messing with the engagement levers and it got
engaged and now when attempting to start the pony motor its
turning over the diesel engine too. How can relieve the gear so
its back to normal. Any information is helpful, thank you.

Remove the plug with the square recess that is behind the engagement linkage. It will give you access to bump/release the engagement levers. Bumping one lever is all that is required as they are linked together.

I have tried this. They move in together but I dont thinks enough to release it. I really dont wanna have to remove the pony motor, if I dont have to.

one of the levers is an over center clutch that drives the pinion gear--make sure its in the released position
