I just replaced the worn out power steering pump and noticed that fluid in the pump and lines looks like a milkshake. My thought is to disconnect the return line and just crank the engine over while filling the resevoir. Is this a viable method to get the fluid out or is there a better option?

Not going to get old oil out of the cylinders.Cracking the lines when running and actuate the steering wheel will work a lot of it out.
