Transmission seal

Searching for transmission output seal for 1974 TD7E. Any help would be amazing and also does anyone know if it is possible to change it by simply removing the universal.

Welcome to the forum. I'm not used to working on IH, but on Caterpillar the concept looks the same. Once the universal is apart you likely have to remove the nut that holds the yoke to the shaft coming out of the bevel gear case. Once the yoke is off you can change the seal. If you have a hard time getting the seal as a dealer part you can match it up by all the correct dimensions and order it from any bearing house (or online). If you can see the original seal number you can type it in a search and you will likely have some results. Wish you all the best!

Pretty much as nordic describes and best I remember that yoke is floating no bolt to remove. Here is
what worries me if the clutches have worn o rings you have high internal case preasure FORCING the
oil out rather than leaking seal. Thirty minute job to knock the seal out and take it to any good
seal place and get a new one. If you do not find it let me know I do have the actual OM part number
seal on the shelf. Have tried ever thing to get you and e-mail.
