Hi all, I have a Vermeer Trencher Backhoe that will not start.
Here are some details:

The machine turns over.
No spark at the spark plugs.
No spark at the coil.

Industrial tractor from the 1970s
192 Ford Industrial Engine
Replaced the exhaust manifold
Replaced coil
Replaced points
Distributor and Rotor look good.
The starter switch appears to be good.

In all the time I've had it, the machine pops alive easily. It sat a couple weeks outside uncovered, and there might have been one small rain.

The next thing I can think of to replace is the condenser?
What do I test next?
Am I missing something?

Before just guessing and throwing parts at
it, check to see if you have power to the
coil also power to the coil during cranking.
It may just be a bad switch

Take jumper wire directly from +battery post (if -gr) to dist. Remove cap and move points back and forth, should see small spark, if not trouble with switch. Scrape contacts on roter and cap and remove all dirt and moisture from inside cap. Put cap back on, make sure jumper is connected.and engage starter. Should fire, if not, probably needs new cap.
