So normally I can see where on the Case 580 tractor it would be real easy to remove the brake covers just like on a Farmall H or M as the brakes are on the , BUT with a Loader Backhoe I was told it won't come off as the loader bracket bolted to the Axle stops it from coming off all the way. Is there any solution other than taking the loader and moving it ? I was told by someone they tried to but it cant be done . There has to be a way.. So dont make me get my torchs out if I dont have too!

Just try it and see... not going to be any extra effort if it doesnt work. May be just a coincidence, but that notch in the loader frame opposite the long cover bolt suggests barely enough clearance to get the bolt out, assuming that there is nothing under the battery that cant be seen that would interfere with the operation.

Your tractor looks like it's already been notched out on that loader frame. It should come right off. Don't try to take that one bolt out that lines up with that notch, you can remove the housing by taking off the four bolts at the corners of the brake housing. That one bigger bolt can be removed after you get the housing off. It's just an anchor pin for the brake band.

I replaced the brakes on a 480 B this spring. The loader frame is close but with some patience they came out. The hardest part was getting the linkage disconnected. I don't remember it being difficult, but it was a while ago.
