I decided to pass on it. After getting a good look it was going to be a lot more work than Im ready to put into it. Another fellow bought it for $800. Dont know what he intends to do with it but that was about $700 over what I wanted to give for it.
Thanks for the comments you guys gave me on this.

I cannot see the top of the exhaust stack in the picture, but, if it has been covered all this time, I would buy it if I could buy it scrap price stuck engine or not.

well if i was there my offer would have been over 1k. pretty nice looking unit. and yes the muffler is covered. that makes the difference!

its a special breed of people that know about them and run them. the average joe is lost.

You are so right, it take the right person the knows those machines. Thats not me at this point. But Im learning. I was able to speak to the owner today. He confirmed what I was scared of. It has a cracked head and 1 cylinder was full of water. The fellow that bought it was going to try to free the engine and go from there. The machine can certainly live again but it was more than I was willing to get into. I probably misspoke in my post. $800 dollars is a heck of a price. If the engine was not stuck I would have been willing to give substantially more. Ill have one. One of these days!

Yep , always an issue , seems to be all there ,just getting it unstuck and correct the reason its stuck , need mentorship on it if you get it .
