Case 580B power steering not holding

I have a recently acquired case 580 B. It is well worn to say the least, but it does what I need it to do. I have not spent a lot of time on it yet, but as I drive it and turn the steering wheel, the wheels turn but do not stay put in the turn. I have to keep turning the wheel to keep making the turn or they straighten out on the own. My first guess is that the steering cylinders are shot and do not hold pressure to keep the tractor in a turn. But, is there something else I should be looking for, before I start to tear down or replace the cylinders?

That sounds like a cylinder issue, if one internal seal lets go you you will have your issue, reseal both cylinders as the both will be worn, to get the rods out of the barrel's it is not the conventional way of the gland been screwed in, first clean and have a good look, remove the spring clip from the outside collar, using a blunt punch tap the collar into the barrel, remove another spring clip from the wall of the barrel, you can now pull the rod out and fit the seals in the conventional way.
