I have a 1974 Case 580B. Its missing the long control rod that
runs the length of the loader for the hydra leveling for the bucket.
The cylinder is their. I thought I would try and make one if I had the
length measurements and diameter of the rod. If someone had one
they could measure and give me the info it would sure be
appreciated! Thanks

I have a 1975 580b. Previous owner took all the linkage off. Some unbolted, some with a torch. They also torched the travel lock for the hoe. I will try to measure the long rod in a bit. Buried in the garage. Give me a bit. I don't really care about the return to dig/bucket level. But would like to get the travel lock repaired.

Where you at in Tn? I don't want to get rid of it. But if not too far you could come by and copy it. My email should be open, try it and I'll send pics that way.

Thanks for taking the time to give me this information. I dont know how important this linkage is. I see a lot of them removed. I bought this as a fixer upper. I havent operated it yet but Im really close. As I understand it this linkage keeps the bucket level while raising. It does have the hydra level cylinder. Im close to Columbia TN. I wasnt able to email you thru the site.

If I remember correctly the cylinder provides the bucket self-leveling function, nothing to do with that rod. I believe the long rod you are talking about is the feedback for the "return to dig" function, not self-leveling, of the control valve. Your loader will operate fine without that. Your Operator's manual should explain using it, it is supposed to speed production loading a bit.
