Hello everyone, just joined Yesterday's Tractor Forum today since I'm the proud new owner of a 1962? Ford Industrial Backhoe with Front loader. I'm looking to gain any knowledge about the specifics of my Tractor anyone would want to offer. It has a 4 cyl. gas engine. On the Block, just behind the Starter Is a small corrosion pitted area which I hope Isn't partially hiding the following two rows of "Stamped" numbers. The Inner row closest to the block Is 1300 The outer row Is 6859. On the Ford's Left Front loader Arm Is an Aluminum Tag with 2 rows, the top row Is I I I 8 The lower row Is I 9-335. (The last 2 sets of # start with the letter I, not numerical 1) My Transmission's "Casting Number Is 310835 with another row of numbers below that which Is partially hidden by the frame. I'm assuming that since this Is a factory Backhoe with removable Backhoe attachment, they've got a plate over the PTO & there's no brackets for a 3 point hitch. I'm wondering If the PTO has to be Inoperable or can I remove the plate & add a PTO as an additional option? Also, since the Backhoe attachment Is removable did It come with quick disconnect hydraulic hoses for easy removal & reattachment? Where Is my Frame SN? I'd also like to see any close up pictures you would be willing to post that would show me the routing & location of my missing power steering hoses since both are currently cut to nubs & my Backhoe attachment has no connecting hoses. (Along with any other close up pictures that would assist me In converting the various rigged BS back to factory set up. Such as, my battery Is not mounted where it belongs, the Solenoid Is rigged there instead, the entire fuel system Is rigged with a temporary gravity feed lawnmower tank strapped to the lift arm with an extra long gas line & Inline petcock but the tank Is there, (Is the original tank supposed to be gravity fed or does this model have a fuel pump & where It It located? There's a terribly rigged remote choke, the gas pedal Is not connected & no return spring but the throttle lever does work, It starts right up & runs If you play with the rigged choke cable, the gravity feed causes It to Instantly flood & drip gas out the carb throat If you fail to close the petcock when shutting It down & there's no breather setup. I think Mr. Haney may have been the last owners mechanic but It was extremely fair priced & seems really solid, just needs lots of Un-Rigging & factory setup restoration with TLC The Backhoe arms come In 10', 12' & 14' reach, this one has 14' reach. By the way, I'm located In Bonne Terre Mo. Feel free to spill your guts & share any Info &/or close up pictures of specific areas In question you may have on my Tractor. Thanks In Advance.
