I have an older Case 580 188 diesel backhoe with Roosa pump and I think its about 1969 .I never had it running but before I try to start it I want to know when sitting in the seat and to te right of the steering wheel is the throttle lever and so which direction do you move it to increase rpm and which direction to lower rpm ?

Thank you for the info.. and what about the fuel suppy the pump there is the lever and its on the opposite side towards the block? Im thinking is a straight cable that goes directly to levr from dash and so it attachs to the offset arm /lever at the bottom of lever on the pump. . so what direction is the lever supposed to be for Run ? forward or back? so if your in the drivers seat and the cable comes thru the dash then do you push it in for run and pullout for stop?
Also I have valve cover off and found 2 really bent pushrods? where to find them? also removed injectors as it not starting or firing at all and I was told it has not ran in 10 years.... so pulled them out but they are alot diffrent than the massey perkins I just did and these when you try to clean them thee is a metal restriction in it in the openings ..not a clean hole to run a can of spray with tube carb cleaner in . looks like I have to fabricate a fitting to clean them out or take off one of the tubes from the pump and attach it ? then squirt it in there to get it to the nozzle ? any thoughts? and is there just 1 small spray hole in the tip? ? Thanks in advance
