Confusing Dresser TD7E serial number

Hey all, I purchased a very nice little TD7E recently but am having trouble positively identifying year built. I believe I read that dresser stopped production in 84? Then went to international-Hough div. My tag says:
International-hough division
Dresser industries, inc
TD7E
4410020U010554

Any ideas, wisdom on when this tractor was built?
Thanks a bunch, Don

International Harvester sold it's construction line to Dresser in 82 I believe, then it was called International Hough. Your TD-7E is probably an 83 model

First s/n of 1987 is 10483. Sorry I don't have ending s/n but the TD7G started in 1987 also and has a different s/n sequence.
So, I say you have a 1987. Could be near the last TD7E built.

Well I guess it could be an end run 87 according to the serial number. Still not sure, this is a good one lol

I have some old notes that 10560 was the last E built so your is close to the end for sure. Ever time you go to it check the engine oil. They have a engine balancer in the lower part of the engine and if you l et the oil get very low and then work on a steep grade you will starve that balancer and ruin the engine. Have seen many in my day. Good little dozer but keep the oil right to the full mark.

Hey thanks JM for the info! Didnt know that about the balancer, Ill keep it full. Worked it all day today, runs like a top, really good little dozer. Ive always operated larger machines that can run run a smooth grade but this little short coupled guy is making me learn all over again lol.

Thanks again everyone for the help. Happy 4rth!
