has anyone installed an electric fuel pump on a h4 allis dozer gas model 2200 engine. my fuel pump went out some time ago but they want alot of money for a new one. dont use this much. on gravety flow right now but thinking about installing and small electric pump. just wondering where you would mount one. .

I don't have an H4, so can say on a specific spot. In general, any of the 12 volt low pressure fuel pumps I have installed; I try to find a place where it will be below the fuel level in the tank most of the time and near the tank. I haven't had good luck trying to make them lift high or draw fuel from a great distance. Suction flooded and pushing the greater distance has yielded the best results for me.
 
im looking at installing it under the tank but just havent figured away yet. i have a 12 volt 2psi pump.
 
That is a very simple pump, a diaphragm and two poppet valves, as I recall there was a filter gauze over the inlet valve that needed cleaning now and then, if that gauze gets clogged up the fuel could not get through the pump, its under the top cover, any fuel injection shop can repair those pumps what was good enough for the last 50 years will be good enough for the next 50.

If your H 4 is like mine the sediment bulb is in the worse possible situation. How is your exhaust manifold. There are no new ones and seedily no good used ones!! 812 699 0011
