Adams Road Grader Year Built

I have an Adams Motor Grader, Model# 512 Serial# 5238.
Hoping someone might be able to provide year of manufacture and any other pertinent information on this unit.

512s came out in 1944 and ran until 1953, when LeTourneau- Westinghouse bought the company.

Unfortunately, I dont know if any J.D. Adams production records have been preserved. You could try asking over at the Historical Construction Equipment Association website (HCEA), but that is a pretty dead site...

Any way to tell exactly what year from the data tag numbering? I have a 512. The fella I bought it from thought it was a 1960…that’s clearly not right.

I have it in my book, it a 1949. The serial # book says to find Adams under WABCO. Your model 512 is listed there.
