Kubota final drive unit

Hi Guys, hope you can point me in the right direction. Got a Kubota Kx36 mini digger. Machine works great until the oil heats up, but then one final drive unit loses power, and works slow. What am I looking at? Hydraulic motor failure in that unit? Repair or replace? (replacement final drive unit is available, but kinda spendy!) What y'all think? Jim

You have excessive wear in the hydraulic drive motor, when the oil is cold and thicker it performs OK, as soon as the oil heats up it thins out quickly and then excessive internal bypass happens. If you can buy the hydraulic motor alone that's all you need. If you can buy it that way, be VERY SURE it fits as aftermarket units can be slightly different. I have a Kubota 028 and I had one final drive pack it in. It was the gear drive in there not the hydraulic motor. I bought a new and complete replacement unit (out of Texas). It was not quite identical to the original one but a perfect fit. If you know of a hydraulic shop you can trust you could always ask for an estimate to rebuild your drive motor.
