Fuel Filter Question

Have a Link Belt 160 LX Excavator. The Present filter is a Wix 33393 (NAPA). I am currently working to clean the tank
(Drain + Refill with clean fuel) because of filter stopping up too frequently. I am also presently going to introduce
BioBor Algicide into the fuel when I refill the tank. Because of contaminates that this may loosen in lines, tank etc. I
would like to replace the filter with a larger (Longer) filter that would have more capacity. In years past on Ford 7.3
Diesels I have replaced the water seperrator with a fuel filter that drains water at the bottom. What filter or combo of
filters could I do this with even if i have to sequence them?

Surely the answer is keep the diesel clean rather than changing the machine to do it, the filters are done very neat on the Isuzu engine and would be a pity to alter them, if an added water trap is a must Google CAV water trap, they do the type you mentioned filter with a glass bottom water trap with a drain, they also do one with a sensor for a warning light but I still think the factory setup is best.

Thank you, Actually looked ebay last night for the Cav setup. However If I may ask one more detail of the Izuzu setup presently on the machine?
Is there an in-line strainer in the Banjo bolt that holds the line coming from the fuel filter at either end of the line?

I cannot answer that question, the most likely place for the filter in the banjo bolt is the inline to the feed pump, the next likely place is the in to the filter, check them all as as that engine is fitted to a bunch of different machines and each can differ.
