cat 920 parking brake adjustment

Good day. I just replaced the shoes in my parking brake on my 1974 cat 920 wheel loader. If i turn out the linkage yoke enough to connect to
the brake lever then there is not enough threads to hold it secure. Can the main threaded shaft be lengthened ? how is that done ?

Blow the air tank/s build the air fully up again, put parking lever to the off position and you should be able to connect it up without moving the yoke, it might have been altered, there is one jam nut behind the yoke, further up is two other nuts close to the chamber, loosen the outer one and tighten the inside one to pull the rod out enough to connect the yoke, tighten up the jam nuts.
