Bobcat 610

I just recently picked up an old Bobcat 610, i need to order a few things for it but everything I find states it is for a vh4d, the tag on this one states vh4d1. Is there any difference?
 
All 610s had the H4VD engine. Im going out on a limb here
by saying yours should still be the same even with the 1 after
it. Do some more internet looking to be sure.
I restored ours to a good running useful critter. Youll find it
quite handy around the home place.

Someone just told me that the 1 means it was originally propane fueled, so everything should be the same. I just ordered a pertronics electronic distributor for it. Hopefully I can get this thing goin as Im sure you're right, it will probably be pretty useful.
 


I have a 444 which is a slightly different version of the same machine. Watch that variable drive pulley system. Make sure it's on there good and tight with no wobble. You can't find them easily anymore and they aren't cheap when you do. I ended up having to make a replacement that is single speed. Still way better than a fork and shovel in the barn!
 
When you put the pertronix in Make sure the charging system has been converted to the under the seat alternator setup,not still
using the original Wisconsin setup.Those were OK for keeping the battery up,but were prone to voltage surges,spikes,and droops.The
Pertonix has ZERO tolerance for that kind of stuff.The later of those series of machines already had the alternator setup,but
Bobcat sold a little kit to hang the alternator under the seat.The belt ran off the cross shaft that feeds the two drives.Around
here when the Bobcat quits everything stops until it is fixed.
