Im looking at a Case 350 track loader.
Seller says
No leaks new steering brakes / hydrostatic trans runs good Forward drive clutch is weak / reverse is fine.
My worry is the Forward drive clutch is weak in the ad description.
This Case 350 is about 3 hours from me. What do you guys think the problem is with the forward drive clutch? And approximate cost to fix?
Reverse works, so not sure whats going on?
Thanks

The 350B has a Borg Warner shuttle, the shuttle has two clutches forward/reverse, if its got a strong reverse that indicates that the torque, charge pump, oil pressure and reverse clutch is good, the forward clutch has an issue, the most common thing to fail is a dish shaped disc called a Belleville spring that acts like a pressure plate to jam the clutch discs together, those can crack and lose their stiffness causing the clutch to slip, also the discs could be worn or a seal on the piston leaking, there is nothing that can be done with the shuttle in situ, it has to be removed and needs a competent mechanic to work on it.
