Case 580 ck early

Hi Ive been working on my neighbours old case 580 ck. I think ita a 73 but might be older, has a modell 33 backhoe. We had the hoe off , removed and
resealed the control valve body. Previous hands had been at it before I got there so some things are a mystery. A restrictor fell out of one hose when
we moved the valve body and we are unsure of its location. Also we are a little uncertain of hose location and control linkage. We dont have a manual.
Any pictures or manual references would be welcome. Thanks, Jim

I think the restrictor is for the boom drop, bottom port of the boom section valve, I will try to post the layout of the hose routes, there were a few different backhoe layouts, foot swing, extending dipper etc, the one shown is a standard 33, you will have a lot of trial and error, remember each cylinder has two hoses so trace the hoses from the cylinder in pairs and connect them to the top and bottom ports of the same valve, test things on low idle so if wrong you don't burst hoses.

That did not come out very big, I have tried again with the hoe block only so you can see it a bit better where the lines go, swing left, then bucket, dipper and boom.

thanks AJ from what IVe read I assumed the restrictor was for boom drop but we were uncertain. to clarify it does have the foot pedal swing

I checked the online parts list and it for the boom drop, bottom port of the boom valve.

that will help us out a bunch. The control tower was removed from the hoe prior to my arrival on the project. im pretty sure its hooked up correctly from pictures Ive seen on the net. BUT on the 2nd lever from the left side there are 2 legs that connect to corresponding rods. one is a little shorter than the other. which leg goes forward towards the hoe and which one back towards the operator? you can email me at [email protected] or text message at 613-390-9383. thanks again. it will be a week or more before I can get back at it

I do not have any machine around with a 33 on it to check and unlikely to have one come in, there are four options of the controls shown and none of them show the rods connected to the valves, if you are down to the last two you done well, you will have to try each way till you get it right, just take it steady and when checking the movements get in the seat as many have been injured or worse testing things while standing on the ground and reaching up, it only has to happen once to ruin your life.
