Case Terratrac Dozer - What can you tell me?

Afternoon all - I got a good deal on and picked up a non-running 1950's Terratrac dozer. I don't know much about it but the price was right so even if I can't get it running I'm not out much. I'm looking for help identifying the exact model, it's specs, and any input on common issues.

I believe from digging online that it's probably a 310, but I couldn't find a data plate or a model number on the machine. Can anyone help pin it down from the pictures below? Looking for engine specs as well if anyone knows. Also has a remote on the back, which I'm assuming was to run a ripper or a winch?

According to the gentleman I bought the machine from he purchased it, used it to move some dirt and clear some trees, and then ~5 years ago it stopped running on him like it wasn't getting fuel and he started to fix it but had some health issues that kept him from finishing. He replaced the fuel pump and was advised that it was likely timing chain/gear related (I'm not sure why that is, that wouldn't show as a fuel issue so there's probably more I don't know). I'll be digging into the machine after I pick it up, but if anyone knows common failure points for these engines I'm all ears.

Looking the machine over it's holding all it's fluids except coolant (at least at the top of the radiator), plugs don't look bad, he covered the exhaust pipe, and there's not internal corrosion that I can see. Gas is basically varnish at this point but that's easy enough to drain. I'm interested in any input on these machines that anyone who has experience can share.

Thanks!

Looks like a 310, a terratrac has a flat head engine, looks like a good project. The head casting number 1148 is common head for 310.

i know Steve. he has more knowledge of these machines of anyone i know. great guy with a compassion of these.

a 310, prior to a E Series, a C or D Series is my guess serial tag would have been on the outside of the left arm rest or there abouts as they moved location a time or two,, cant see much but looks to have the Case 148 engine,, earlier units had a Continental engine, a carry over from when the bought ATC

(quoted from post at 05:46:17 04/20/21) Hey pinball, thanks for the kind words, I will put the check in the mail...

Steve - Do you mind if I reach out and pick your brain on these machines a bit? If you don't mind, what's the best way to reach you?
