John Deere backhoe

(quoted from post at 09:33:10 09/24/20) In the John Deere backhoe series what is the difference from a 310 to a 300 hoe

I think the 300 was available as a loader tractor, with either the 7300 0r 7320 loader, and the hoe (9200 or 9250, I believe) was an add on. So you needed 3 parts catalogs. The 310 had the loader and hoe integrated into the tractor's parts catalog as complete units.

There are several changes as the 310 production started in the last couple years of 300 production. If you click on this link take you to JD's non-current models site where you can see the cut sheets on them and compare the specs you are interested in.

JD 300 was a straddle tractor and 310 was a flat deck. Engine and driveline was roughly the same. Just heavier backhoe and loader on the 310.

The 310 is made to primarily be a backhoe... the seat swings around, the platform is flat, etc. The 300 is basically a tractor (intially a 1020, then later models) with a backhoe attached on the back. You will do a lot of climbing from the upper seat to the lower, etc.
