Engine aside. The serial number is for a straight 450, diesel crawler loader with an HLR transmission, 095559 is a 1969 build. Look closely at what you are calling a 1 at the end. I believe you will find it is a T, which means it was built at the Dubuque Tractor Works facility.

It sounds like a bad reverse clutch, but could be in a valve adjustment if you are real lucky. You need JD service manual # SM2064. Do the adjustments and diagnostics before throwing parts at it.

Went back and looked and last in serial was. T like
you said I haven’t gotten unit home as of yet and it
hasn’t been ran in several years so will have to get
it up and running loaded and moved home where I
can really start the process of trouble shooting the
problem but your help is and will always be
welcome and I Thank You I am somewhat new to
this so I am sure I will be reaching out soon

Check the HLR shifter to make sure reverse is going all the way in. With the engine off, you should be able to hear
the detent clicks as you move the HLR lever from gear to gear. If it clicks when moved to reverse, chances are,
either reverse piston sealing rings are leaking or the steel manifold rings are leaking or broken. If you don't
hear a clear click when going for reverse , I'd try to adjust the shifter or cut out the shift quadrant so the
lever goes all the way into reverse..
