Early 580c backhoe engine overhaul

I have a before s/n # 207D with the 2 1/4 bowel I have found one kit that says the later style replaces the early . Has any one tried that or do I need to stick with the small bowel style. Thanks

You stumped me I thought bowel was a medical term what are you referring to?.

I sold Case equipment for 37 years but in the years of the 580 C with 207 engine only had one model of sleeve and piston. the only difference i remember was the early bloc you could used 188 parts and newer block had the only kit A151991 piston & chrome sleeve kit and that kit became so darn expensive that Case suddenly was selling a cdc engine with a conversion kit for the rad and other stuff and hydraulic pump for the 580 D .
