Case 320 crawler final drive sprocket connection

Have found worn spline connections in the final drive between the output shaft and the drive sprockets. New sprockets are not available for purchase so. Have been reading about epoxies that can be used to tighten these areas. Has anyone had experience using these materials and which would you recommend. Would you also recommend a release agent to be used???? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards RJZ

RJZ,

I have done several of those repairs . A short summary of how .
turn the trashed splines off the axle ,get it welded with a crankshaft welder
slowly to keep the temp from removing the heat treating ,turn to an
1 1/2 in per ft taper . Bore the remaining splines from the sprocket,
weld hole small enough to bore it to fit the axle ,cut key way in each.

Below are some photos from the job. Email me if you explanation

George, thank you for the reply. It appears you had some heavily worn parts. I can see where a tapered fit with a keyway would work quite well. Up to this point I have done much myself, but this project is beyond my abilities in my shop. So I"ll check out some local machine shops. Thank you again. RJZ
