JD 455 SERIES TRACK LOADER

G'DAY ALL, THIS IS MY FIRST CRACK AT ANY TYPE OF FORUM. THOUGH I'D GIVE IT A GO......I HAVE A JD TRACK LOADER 455.....THIS IS WHERE MY CONFUSION STARTS. NOT SURE OF THE MODEL. MY MANUAL HAS HAND WRITTEN NOTES AS A 455E,1996. I HAVE TRIED NUMEROUS DEALERS TO TRY AND GET HOLD OF TRACK CHAIN TO NO AVAIL (NEED THE SERIAL No). THE SERIAL ID PLATE HAS BEEN 'LOST'. I HAVE DONE REVS CHECKS (FOR LICENCE PLATE) WITH NO LUCK.
WHAT I HAVE FOUND SO FAR IS.....1996 SHOULD BE A 'G' MODEL??? FROM WHAT I CAN FIND THE 'E' MODEL SHOULD BE AROUND 1986. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I GET HOLD OF ACTUAL THE SERIAL NUMBER VIA USE OF THE ENGINE NUMBER
ENGINE NUMBER IS TO4276T125462 CHASSIS#DT798022

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

You should be able to
count the links assuming
one hasn't been taken
out, the pitch, rail
height, and pad bolt
pattern and cross it to
Berco or Itrack.

Another source is AMS undercarriage 800 255 6253.Give them the measurements and they will come up with a quote. They have branches world wide

(quoted from post at 21:57:48 08/03/20) Thanks heaps for that mate. Will give them a go.

You might not have the serial number but it should be easy to tell if it is a 455E or a 455G (there was no 450F/455F series), unless they did something different with the models in Australia. First the sheet metal is different. The 455G is squarer and the fuel and hydraulic tank fills are in different locations from the 455E.

Another quick tell should be the transmission shift levers. The 450E/455Es used the H-L-R transmission that the previous 450 series machines used. The 450G/455Gs got the full powershift transmission.

If a John Deere dealer can't do anything to relate your engine number to a machine serial number, I doubt that there is much hope of anyone doing that.

As was posted, measure up you chains, include the size of the pad bolts. An undercarriage dealer, or JD dealer, should be able to match them up by dimensions and link count. You should be able to do a web search for undercarriage dealers and find aftermarket dealers in your area. I see Berco has at least one in the Queensland area.

Photo of older machine has a Mahnen Machinery decal on the tank.. Brings back fond memories of when I was a working
service manager of the Painesville ,Ohio branch of Mahnen Machinery.. Don't mind me, just remembering the good old
days.. At my age , it's allowed
