Terramite T7 rear

Calling on any terramite experts out there.

Working on the rear and all the info Ive found and the parts book indicates it uses a Dana 44 rear with normal looking automotive center section.

The one in this one is different, the center section doesnt have a rear cover like the 44, it bolts together from the left side.

I havent got it apart yet, but I know theres a few teeth missing on the ring gear. Hoping its a Dana 44 ring and pinion in there.

Thanks,
Mike

as far as I know,he left the forum because people kept trying to accuse him of building one of "George's
famous death machines" for no reason.can't say blame him for leaving.

It is actually, he is quite imaginative and good with a low budget to make it happen. His posts on the differential repair he did
on his Terramite should be very useful to the poster above, hopefully he finds George's post on it.

The rear axle in George's Terramite was a Dana with a rear cover and the housing needs to be spread to get the differential carrier out of the housing. The split housing sounds like a Timken axle of the type used in some older Jeeps, Studebakers, Fords (and likely others).

Jim,
Exactly, but slightly different than the old timken axles.

This machine is 2013/14 by my guess. Has a D1105 Kabota in it.

The mystery has been solved. The newer terramites use a Korean sourced rear axle assembly. So we will be buying some new parts through the factory.

He is one of 3 YTers that I have met in person, smart nice guy, a shame that he got ran off , he did build some innovative things but pretty nice guy.
