Oil pressure cat 426

The engine (Perkins 4-236) was rebuild about 100 hours ago and at about 10 hours the light did flash on , shut it off and restarted and all was good.
Now at 100 hours the light will go out when started and remain out for bout 20 seconds then flash on.
I pulled the sending unit and inserted a mechanical gauge and when started pressure is 60 psi for about 20 seconds then drops to almost nothing.
If I let the engine sit for a time the process will repeat itself
I am leaning towards a faulty oil relief valve but would appreciate any advice or ideas before I pull the pan.

Who rebuilt the engine and why,100 hrs is less than 3 weeks work for a contractor, the relief valve could have an issue but I would be leaning more to the oil pump, either way it's oil pan off,I'm in the UK and 9 out of 10 backhoes here are JCB with the same engine and that is a very rear problem for those engines, the 4.236 engine is a good reliable engine with a long life.

The engine was reliably rebuiltd and as the hoe is only used for occasional jobs aroun the farm it might get 10-15 you’re of running a month. I plan to
pull the pan next week and will let you know what I find

It would be easier for us old timers if you stuck to plain English, did you speak with the person who rebuilt the engine and find out if a new oil pump was fitted and the relief checked, what was done, was the oil pressure ok before,no one at my place can remember any 4.236 having such an issue,be careful that with the oil pressure low that it does not run a bearing or worse throw a leg out of bed.
