Hi members,
Is there anyone who knows how to set a Fiat 70-65 clutch including finger measurement etc. We have refurbed the clutch with new plates, bearings, seals and bushes. The workshop manual is unclear. There is obviously a measurement to set the clutch but we can't seem to find that measurement or where to take said measurement from.
Please help.

Years ago I remember fitting a clutch to some truck that had to be set up,the clutch was fitted to the flywheel, there was a fixture that bolted to the bell housing, the centre of the fixture went against the trust area of the pressure plate and compressed it,then the clearance was checked on each of the fingers and adjusted to spec and that was it,remove the fixture and fit the gearbox, look at your clutch for a makers name as it is unlikely Fiat made the clutch, its more likely to be from one of the main makers,if you find a name google it and you might get lucky and the info you want.

What type clutch has the machine got,is it operated by hand the over centre type or is it permanently engaged operated by a pedal, the over centre type usually has a ring that is screwed into the pressure plate to tighten up on the friction disc, that ring would have a lock to keep it secure, the only adjustment on the permanently engaged is usually the pedal free play,I doubt if a machine of that era has adjustment on the pressure like I described in the other post.
