When unscrewing the hydraulic reservoir fill cap on my D3B, the hydraulic oil started to spew out all over the machine. Is this normal?

Is the reservoir overfilled,the system is a closed type and will build up pressure which is normal,the cap should be undone slowly to allow the pressure to escape,if it's over filled oil will come out,equipment on the floor to check the level.

I always found it better to fill the system first thing in the morning when it all has chilled down overnight and the pressure is lower
