I have a1965 750 dozer that will pull sometime and then it quits like the brakes are held. You can let it set for a few minutes then it will pull again. I have cleaned screens and inspected filters.what am I missing?

Charlie,
2 questions , when it quits , is it stiff as if the brakes are on,

or does it just stop and act like it would free wheel .

For question 2 The symptoms say either you have a suction leak

between the sump or you have an oil that foams . If foaming

and the converter will clear the foam and will work again.

If locking solid , look for a broken oil control ring , but

that usually doesn't heal up while sitting.

. Thank you for getting back to me. The dozer acts like it will free will when it quits pulling. I check the dipstick under the seat and it had a bunch of air bubbles in the fluid. I just recently bought this machine

Plain hyd oil will foam , I did it once , got out on a job and

that is all I had , gave me the same trouble you have . Change

it and use a good utf.

That sounds like its losing it's prime, is the suction strainer clean, check the oil line from the transmission to the filter and then to the pump as that is under suction and will draw air if it can,see any breathers on the tranny housing are clean, try it with the dipstick out, what are the gauges reading?.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me will a case 730 exhaust manifold Off of a tractor fit a 750 case crawler. Oh I forgot to reply that I had a line loose letting it leak and suck air. Is why it wasnt pulling right. Thanks everyone

Re the exhaust manifold, both the 750 crawler and 730 tractor share the same 267 diesel engine, the parts drawing for the crawler shows the exhaust stack coming from the middle of the manifold,I cannot find a parts list for the 730 tractor to compare.

Thank you AJ.

Did find the drawing for the 730 the exhaust manifold is different, the 750 a four bolt flange to bolt the adaptor to carry the stack, the 730 has a straight pipe coming up to attach the stack with a u bolt, the mounting to the head look different as well,I do not know if the heads are the same.

Thank you
uploaded some pics. The 730 tractor manifold will fit the 750 crawler.

Probably will fit below is the parts drawing of what I found as they is no way I can remember the Ag tractor of 50/60 years ago.
