I have a MF200 dozer. If I put it in natural on a hill is will not coast backward. It does coast fine forward. It will go backwards but it's like there is a brake or some thing on.

Any ideas..
Thanks

Not been able to remember what kind of drive your 200 has it sounds as forward gear is dragging,I have often come across the problem with both the mechanical and power shuttles when they have an issue, the forward drive wanting to remain engaged all the time, have a look at the linkage and see there is nothing fouling it.

With the engine stopped it could be a brake issue, check on the linkage and adjustment.

Forgot to mention the tracks, look and see there is no rock or other debris caught in a track and jamming it from going backwards, check the idlers and sprockets with a pry bar see they are tight and proper.

Is was a linkage brake issue on the left. got it all lubed up and working good. Still don't know why it would coast forward but not back. but after getting the linkage working it coast backwards now.

Thanks for the help..
