case 580ck with #33 hoe/ pressure line

I have a 1968 580ck backhoe with a #33 hoe. Im trying to identify which one is the the pressure line and the return line on the Hoes valve pack. I took parts off this hoe years ago to fix another 580ck and I had removed some of the hyd hoses ect . Now I cant remember which hoses went where . I have identified the pressure hose that feeds the backhoe valve pack that is coming off the valve that is for the loader because I cranked the engine over and it shoots out of a fitting that is angled off the rear of the valve body { see picture }. so that would be what feeds the backhoe . I have 2 big hoses that come from the valve pack on the backhoe. 1 on each end . so sitting on the tractor , which side of the valve pack does the pressure line from loader valve go to ? right side or left ? and then I believe that both lines going back have 1 way valves in them right ? pressure line has one and also the return has one ? thanks

According to the parts drawing the pressure line goes to the right hand side sitting in the seat looking at the hoe,the original lines had quick break couplings on them, the pressure line had the quick break coupling on the front end of the hose and the return had one half of the coupling directly on the valve and the other on the hose end idea being when the hoe would be off the hoses could be connected together as they must be otherwise the circuit will dead end and may damage the pump.

Thanks AJ for the info. I did get a drawing from the internet .here it is . And I see the 2 piece hose on the return and understand why its built in 2 sections although I doubt I would ever take of backhoe from tractor. I have a question . In regards to the qwick connect/disconnect fittings it seems like when you connect the 2 halfs of the connection gtogether and both pieces have a pin. one is bigger than the other and when slid together both pins push back and the the fluid can then go thru them. so except for the short hose on the return needing to be compatible with the fitting on the valve in case I would remove the hoe , does it matter which way they are put on as long as when put together one is a male and other female so as the fluid passes thru?..in other words all the fittings does in connect and lets fluid pass thru, its not like they have to be in a certain direction so as they can only let fluid pass thru 1 way only .?

on the picture the arrows show both hoses, P is for pressure and R is for return . I am missing one set of qwick connectors and one set is missing the sprigs inside so I need to find where to buy a set .or parts for the one set that I lost the parts out of.

Sorry for the last message I added 2 extra pics to that last reply and it screwed up my words so... long story short ,as long as I put two ends together and the pins both push back when together and fluid can flow thru them then its correct . and the short line on the return has to be opposite of the fitting on the valve so when hooked up , if I would ever remove the hoe , that both pins would also push back as to allow the fluid to flow thru as not to dead head the pump. And so when the hoses are assembled together that actually the hyd fluid can flow in both directions not just one way , allthough the system is not set up to flow different , it could . and when disconnected the pins on both ends slam shut and stops any leaks right? last pic is one set that I have that is missing the springs and special washers that got lost somewhere . so I don't know if I can just buy the parts or I am going to have to fine others somewhere .

If you are not removing the hoe there is no need for the couplings,if you do decide to use couplings go to your local hydraulic shop with an old one and they will be able to supply a couple of new ones, the orientation of the couplings does not matter but they should be each the same type and size so the hoses can be connected together both on the tractor and the hoe, they have to be connected together on the tractor so the oil can circulate around the loop.

ok so I have a 2 matching pairs and don't plan to remove hoe . so one set is fine and has all parts, and the other is missing the inside spring and valve and so I can still use them even though the springs and vales are missing then right ?

Yes you can use the body, make sure you take everything out as anything that loose in there could find its way to the valve chest or pump.
