580D oil leaks

Anyone ever have one that leaked oil around the torque converter/shuttle area? What was the repair preformed? Any part numbers would be appreciated. Thanks,Dane.

That's kind of vague.
You mean out the front, back, or clutch solenoid?

Couple things to check
Make sure the Vent on top is clear.
They can clog, build pressure and blow out oil around a seal.

Also make sure your oil is not coming from the Steering valve above it..

We are not sure where it is leaking from. Not my unit, have been lead to believe that it's the converter to shuttle seal.leaks had when worked hard when the oil is good and hot.Case does not support the torque converter parts wise, can't seem to find a number for a seal for the shuttle end.
Will pass on the information about the other areas to check. Thanks.

It very well could be the front seal
Part #N8071
OIL SEAL,49.23mm ID x 68.53mm OD x 8.23mm Thk

You Google that seal number and a lot of hits come up.
Coleman, Messicks, and others show it.

As I mentioned be sure to check the vent. It can cause this.
I had mine do this one time and I loosed the Trans. dip stick
Pulled it out slightly, wrapped a rag around it to keep dirt out
And finished the job I was on.
Oil leak went away.
Later back home I found the vent covered in dried grease/dirt.
Cleaned it out, no more problem.

That is the Case number.

Google that number and it comes up at numerous vendors.

Also you could use the measurements at a seal/bearing place
And cross it to a number I would think.

BTW,
My Case Dealer has one in stock, and say's there available from
Case CNH.

You need to find where the oil is coming from,if the shuttle to torque seal has failed the oil gets into the bell housing, remove the plug at the bottom of the bell housing there should be no oil in there,if there is the seal is suspect, also the torque cake can have cracked, the most likely place the oil leaks is from the breather this can happen when the relief valve sticks, the valve is located in the short piece of hexagon bar that is located in the plumbing on the top right side of the shuttle, inside the hexagon bar there is a ball and spring,if the valve is not working the oil can leak from the breather each time you shift the shuttle.
