Backhoe swing cylinders

My Davis 185 backhoe uses two swing cylinders. One has been cannibalized. Other than the speed of the swing, is there any reason I can not run on one, until I find a solution. Rain is going to start in a week and I need to get some work done.

Thank you,
Don

Making an assumption that it uses two double acting cylinders, not two single acting ones, it should work if you plug the hoses that go to the removed cylinder. Speed may be faster and power will be less.

it may work but I suspect it might damage the good one because of the added pressure and you may not be able to control the swing. might just take the bad one to a hydraulic shop and see if they can fix it.

Its working fine with one cylinder. I just need to be cautious as it is quicker. A machinist that has made parts for me in the past is coming to have a look at the cylinder. Either fix it or modify 2 new cylinders to fit.
