So I m looking at 2 crawlers. I ve been searching for articles, opinions, and general info on both but come up short. I m wondering if anyone has info like HP, WEIGHT, YEAR, etc. and experience with either.
1 - Allis Chalmers HD6G see. # 17040 asking $4200
2 - CASE 750 see. # 70722?7 ( 1 digit I can t read ) asking $5000
Both units run and undercarriage is good. Hrs I do not know yet. I m looking at doing rough landscaping, moving dirt, cutting down small slopes around my pond and other dirt work.

Which one is easier to get parts for? I took a quick look and the HD6 was last made in '74. The 750, depending on specific model, might be almost twice as heavy. I'd lean towards the Case, but you need to research parts and component availability. Things like unavailable torque converter parts can put a machine in a fence row forever.

AC made a good crawler but compared to the Case 750 it will be slower and more "clumsy" is how I would put it I would run both and see what you like better as far as operation me I would chose the 750 any day

The HD6G was made probably from '56 to '62, somewhere close to there, it's not in my serial # book. The operating weight is 21780 lbs. according to an original brochure. They
came with a 4 cyl. at 80 HP. As for operating an HD6G bear in mind that they have a standard transmission with a hand clutch. For all the levers and pedals you get a good work-
out while operating. Newer machines are significantly more operator friendly.
