just bought a 450E changed all filters ,eccept the cl&reuse trans filter, supposed to be on rh side of trans, cant see it , do I need to drop skid plates?

Look just over the recoil spring guard, about in line with the back of the step on the right side track frame. You will see a cover with three capscrews on the side of the transmission, that is the cover for the screen. Your call on whether or not you think you can do it without dropping the belly pans/skid plates. The operator's manual doesn't say anything about dropping the pans. There is a wire you need to unhook before removing the cover.

If you don't have one I suggest you purchase an operator's manual (John Deere Part number OMT81347), it will help as a maintenance guide on things such as this. You may want to purchase the technical manuals as well (TM1330 OP [Operation and Test] and TM1330RE [Repair]). Personal preference I would stay with John Deere manuals. https://www.johndeeretechinfo.com/ . You can get them in multiple formats, including downloads, at the JD site. eBay is a source for used JD manuals.

You can use the on line parts catalog for free at https://jdparts.deere.com/servlet/c...ountrySelected&country=US&language=19
