Fuel priming CAT D3B DOZER

Just left a D3B in the middle of the trail. 300 miles from here. Just dropped power and died. Possible that it ran out of fuel although not sure. This unit doesn't have a priming plunger. Any suggestions as to how to prime? Thanks!

on mine i fill the fuel tank completely full, and since it is higher than the transfer pump and filter i just open the bleed valve on the filter and all the air bleeds out--also check the little screen in the transfer pump inlet. mine used to clog quite often

Update: I followed your advice -- topped off the fuel tank, opened the bleeder at the filter outlet and waited. Eventually watched a bubble or two then just a steady but never a real strong drip. Engine wouldn't kick, so we started from scratch and opened and bled each connector along the line. Still nothing until I opened piston 1 line at engine side of the injector pump. Engine finally kicked in and then promptly died. Repeated the whole process but this time cracked and bled each injector line and added a good dose of engine starter which did the trick. Dozer's back in the barn! THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

Great!---the gravity flow thru the system is not very much. and its amazing how that little bit of air in the injector line can give you starting problems. Your transfer pump may not be putting out the 20-30 psi it should---i put a pressure gage teed in at the filter bleed to see the transfer pump output pressure
