Looking for an extendable dipperstick for my JD 350C

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to find this rare but handy little add-on. I've only seen them on 450's, and wheel loaders of course. But the 350 and 450 accept the same backhoe configurations, so fitment isn't a problem...just finding one.

In the literature, I've found one version for the 93 backhoe, which is on some 350/450's. But then I also found a 410B with a different type. (see pic)

Thought maybe it was specific to wheel loaders, but then I found this youtube video of the exact same setup on a 450C:

Any input on my hunt would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Different models had different options, some did not offer the extendable dipper sticks. You need to see if it was an option for yours or you may need a complete different hoe. Maybe you can make a different model's dipper fit with some modifications, but it will likely be trial and error.

Go to JD Parts Homepage and you should be able to access the parts catalogs. You can do a model search, pull up the parts catalogs, and look at the different models. You will find some by the hoe model and some are included with the crawlers. You can research the options and see what if any part numbers match up between models. In the quick look I took it appears the 9520 was the hoe for a 350C. The 9300 shows on a 350 with no extendable dipper stick.

You might find some info on 4 in 1 buckets as well. likely not dimensions but maybe matching part numbers.

Thanks Jim. I've seen several different hoes on the backs of 350s/450's over the years. The hook-up points are identical. I just need to find one of the hoes that has that option on the end of it. Hell, even if it was on the back of a JD wheel loader, I could use it.

I can swap out the end boom fairly easily. I've tried to find some sort of attachment #, just to make searching easier, but to no avail.

Go to JD Parts Homepage and type backhoe into the model search box. You should get a big list of backhoes. You can search through those and find the ones with extendable dipper sticks. You can compare to see if any have the same boom as yours, which might make the dipper swap a pin on deal, plus needed hydraulic changes. As for an "simple interchange" list, like it sounds like you are looking for, maybe your dealer has something. Same for the 4 in 1 bucket.

You could easily make a pin on extension like the one you posted the other day, for the 93 series A, if that will do what you need but it has to be removed and installed, its not an extendable dipper.

Unless someone has done it and speaks up, which it doesn't appear has happened any where or time you've asked in the past, I expect you need to bite the bullet. Dig out your measuring tools and physically go check out the ones (hoes and buckets) you see advertised for sale or in a dealers yard, yourself. You can determine the amount of work you would need to do to make something fit. Get the model numbers even if you don't make a deal so you can figure out which ones will or won't work. It maybe easier to find a machine (more likely a 450 series) with a 4 in 1 and extendable dipper and sell your 350C. Not trying to be a smart a**, but sometimes we have to help ourselves. JMHO

There would be not much chance of anyone selling the extend-a-hoe without the rest of the hoe in my neck of the woods,I had a look around and could not find any, what I would suggest find a whole machine with extend-a-hoe and 4 in 1 and trade yours, other option is find an old 580C or D Case with extend-a-hoe and 4 in 1,modify the arm and the 4 in 1 to go on the JD,put the bucket and arm of the JD on the Case and sell it,has your JD got a valve for the extend-a-hoe.
