The original subject was "Case 580b ck".

Hi there i just purchased a 580 B case. and was wondering what trans. fluid it takes THC? and where do you fill it? I think there is a plug under the seat, the tractor has a shuttle shift 4 speed, i don't think it has a clutch . it moves in low but I think its's low. thanks Ron

Case TCH or any good quality HyTrans oil equivalent will do,fill through the dipstick hole or screw off the breather on top of the control valve and put the oil in there.
Good luck

Thanks guys for the help , and the pictures will help, 22 degs. here in Indiana , so not doing much outdoors.

Is MC 401 the same as T C H oil ? I am still confused about the replacement of the TCH . i found some TCH at Bane and Walker,
$127.00 for 5 gals.

I don't know who/what MC-401 is for oil and I did a quick search didn't find it so don't want to say on that one.

Read the back of a pail or spec sheet for the oils you find. TCH fluid meets Case Spec MS-1210. The new Case Hy-Tran is spec MS-1209 and will work (exceeds/can replace) in place of MS1206 and MS-1210. John Deere's Hy-Gard and many other transmission hydraulic oils claim they meet this spec (1210 and/or 1209). NAPA should have at least one oil meeting this spec,TSC's Premium Universal Transmission/Hydraulic oil claims to meet it, Mobil 424 should, and many others, including Walmart some say. There are low viscosity oils meeting these specs but if you allow a good warm up time and start out gently the regular grade should be fine. JMHO

Oil questions always generate discussion so you should get more viewpoints.
