looking for position of hyd levers (2) when trying to start. Think I must have them wrong since with new battery only cranks for a short time, too shot to start. may be trying to start with hyd pump pressurizing the cylinders instead or just turning over ?

Common loader lever positions for 2 levers, assuming bucket and boom lift. Normally a bucket lever pulled back should curl the bucket, one step ahead (center) should be neutral, full forward should dump the bucket. For the boom lift pulled back should lift the boom arms, one step ahead should be neutral, next forward should be down (pressure), full forward should be float for the boom. The boom lever/valve has 4 positions and the bucket only 3 positions. Bucket lever should be in the neutral position and the boom lever should be in either the neutral or float position for starting.

Also,The Lorraine Moto Loader uses the two pedal instant reverse transmission. It will do what you are seeing if one of the pedals have been stepped on so the trans is in gear.If you step on one, then the other, you will feel the clicks in your foot for neutral. Is yours Cummins or Detroit powered?

has some big 6 cyl gas engine. sure wish it was diesel don;t know what make it is maybe you know how to tell. Thanks for the info on the pedals, will double check that. ron

This was a big help. with no marks on the hyd levers, using your instructions, found out I was trying to start with lever for raising the buck engaged so battery couldn't spin motor. thanks again
