Galion Motor Grader

We have just acquired a nice low hour Galion 503L Motor grader with the IHI 6 cylinder Gas engine. Does anyone know where I can find a throttle cable and a brake band and some steering parts. My understanding is that Komatsu bought Galion out but parts are not easy to come by. Thanks in advance.

In my general area the best help I have received regarding throttle or other control cables is from a place where they sell and service industrial power train components. They custom make the cables. Even in cases where I could order a cable as a part from a dealer this other outfit made up a cable for less than 1/3 of the dealer price. If you locate a place like this you need to bring the old cable in to the front counter as cable ends and other measurements are very critical and difficult to describe using the right terms. On your brake band I suggest calling any place that work with clutches as they work much with the same materials as brakes. It's worth checking around for acceptable pricing as some quote very high for custom work and others are reasonable.

Evidently the running gear on a 503 is the same as an Allis D or DD. Not sure who made it.

I had a Galion 503 grader and needed some brake parts. Got them from Weller Tractor in Great Bend Kansas.
